Teacher | Cross Country Coach | Work-Study Coordinator
Mr. Archer has been with Benton Hall since 2013. He teaches high school Spanish I, Ecology, Biology, Personal Finance and Transitions and also coaches the cross country team. Mr. Archer earned a Master’s Degree from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish, Religion and History from Texas Christian University. He also is fluent in Spanish and studied abroad in Peru. He has presented several gardening topics at Transition Nashville, Trevecca Nazarene University, TAIS Bi-Annual Conference, and Radicale Gathering and has completed a Permaculture Design Certification Course at Trevecca Nazarene University. He is currently working with our Juniors and Seniors on the foundations of a work-study program.

Ms. Bright has been at Benton Hall Academy since 2015. She teaches lower/middle school language arts, reading, science and social studies. Ms. Bright graduated from the University of San Diego. She has also taught in Thailand, assisted in running an English Camp in Thailand, and volunteered in schools across SE Asia.
Teacher | Aftercare | Summer Camp
Ms. Kathy has been at Benton Hall since 2009. She teaches math and social studies in the lower/middle school, as well as, Algebra I & Geometry in the high school. Ms.Kathy also does Aftercare and Summer Camp. She graduated from the University of Florida. Before coming to Benton Hall Academy Ms. Kathy taught in-services and college level classes in Florida and was in pharmaceutical sales. She also had a son who attended Benton Hall Academy and graduated in 2012.
Ms. Ferguson has been at Benton Hall Academy since 1992. She has over 30 years of teaching experience. Ms. Ferguson teaches high school English and Spanish. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Ms. Johnson has over thirty years of classroom experience and has been teaching at Benton Hall Academy since 1997. Ms. Johnson teaches middle school science, social studies, reading, and health for both the lower and middle school. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from David Lipscomb University, Nashville. She also is a Designated Career Level 3 Master Teacher.

Mr. Kaatz began teaching at Benton Hall in 2015. He teaches high school US History, World History, Government, Economics, and Middle School P.E. Mr. Kaatz earned a bachelor’s degree and completed a Teacher Certification Training Program at Lipscomb University.
Ms. Mason began teaching at Benton Hall in 2015. She teaches middle school math, reading and language arts. She has earned a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology at Tennessee State University and a Master’s of Arts Degree in Education at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is CPR & First Aid Certified. From 2012-2014 Ms. Mason volunteered for the Boys & Girls Club; during which she assisted youth with counseling and fundraisers to help mentor youth in a positive direction.
Teacher | Lunch Coordinator | Aftercare | Summer Camp
Ms. Amy has taught at Benton Hall since 1993. She teaches art in the lower, middle and high school, and teaches lower school math and language arts. In addition, she coordinates lunches and does Aftercare and Summer Camp. She is also the head of the prom committee.
Ms. Weaver began teaching at Benton Hall in 2015 after subbing and tutoring for our students in 2014. She now teaches high school Algebra II, Trigonometry and Chemistry. Ms. Weaver graduated with a degree in Special Education at Peabody at Vanderbilt. She has been teaching/tutoring for 35+ years. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes flexibility and always having a plan B. She believes in creating opportunities for success and improving self esteem.
